hello, hello,hello..

this is albert of pu-239 writing, and of course this demo is 100%
finnish quality work by albert of pu-239 (with that exception of
music of course (??) )

i still don't know what this demo is going to be like..
oh, what an unusual way to start making a demo... scrolltext..
but i'm sure this text is going to be the longest i have written,
maybe longer than ever again will be ..

i am sorry this demo is 'slightly' late, but i have had a lot of work
in school.. (oh, i must be a liar..)

this is the story about pu-239 in lahti copy-party 7.4.1989.

once lovejoy had a demo, which invited all freaks to copy-party in lahti.
the party was to be held on an old school building. so we decided to go
there, to get contacts and so on.. your gang was:  &albert& &lovejoy&
&secundus& and raven (ex-x-men)

i start the story when we arrived lahti. we unpacked and got a nice
little corner in one room and loaded some demos to my 64 and secundus's
vic, which got much attention, some of the wonderers didn't believe his
demo was running on the vic!!   well, lovejoy "run off" and was making
some grafix to some other group with amiga (with lousy success i say..).

the 'big' thing in lahti was music, lot of noise made with amiga..
this party was advertised to be a birthday-party and we were prepared
to be ignored by those who were having a party .. so everything was
fine until the 'birthday-party' started. half of the gang had liquir
with them and drank them of course, some even went to get some more..
so, suddenly the principal of the school arrived to see if everything
was ok!...

well, everything wasn't ok as he could see, some of the swappers were
a *bit* drunk..  he watched the party a moment but then tired and talked
to the organizers. they didn't agree what should be done. so the principal
said that the copy-party was over.  (nobody offered him a drink, he had
no choice..)

the school was rented for a computer users meeting and it wasn't looking
like that, so the contract was put off....   the last drop was when a guy
(burn in hell!) broke a bottle on the stairs! before that we thought some
kind of meeting could be held and those drunk could be sent away.. so we
had to stop the party, just after two hours, and pack again and leave..

we drove around some time but then got hungry and saw a carrols' .. so
we went in and ate some junk food... then we went back to the school to
see if something new had happened..  there was police and later a news
fotographer arrived..  nothing unusual i could say..

fortunately one group managed to reason the principal and everyone who
was interested could stay there for night.   i hope we had stayed there!!
but we decided to go to helsinki! it was a reasonable thing to do then.
we did have a whole weekend to spend and there wasn't much to do in lahti
anymore! if we have stayed there, we have had to leave in the morning after
all..

so we drove to helsinki, drove around some time and tried to find a place
to sleep on. well, in the center there wasn't a place which possibly could
be cheap, so we drove to espoo and found a "drive in" hotel.. but we thought
that motor hotel was keeping a good price on their rooms (oh,how wrong we
were again!) and tried another place in vantaa.  that was a some kind of
youth hostel. they had some rooms, but we couldn't have a room for all of
us and decided to sleep on the car (or at least try to).

we drove to the parking lot and tried to sleep, but there was too many
lights and we moved the car to shadows.  that was yet another big mistake!
after approximately one minute we saw car lights pointing at us and then
leave.  we thought it was nothing unusual, but after five minutes or so
we weren't thinking that anymore.

two (or more, i don't know) cars arrived and one man appeared to our side
(we were in the car and he (the security guard) was standing beside our car)
and adviced us not to leave the car and mentioned there was a police with
them. (i wonder if there really was a police..)  we were suprised and i
opened the window to ask what was going on, but got only indefinete answers.
i saw that another man was checking the building for violent entries.
so i said to the man (who was holding a gun in his right hand) that he
wasn't going to find anything and that we hadn't done anything.

they wanted to see our identification papers and were taking our names
and addresses when i asked again what has happened, but he just very
roundly was talking about a safe about 300 metres away from that place
we were sitting. how come, could we be the robber's helpers with a car
full of people (there was really tight in there even without a robber
packing himself in!).

i think they were more confused than us , they didn't remember to take
everyone's address. they didn't even want to see what we had in the car..
(they might have been amazed to see our computers on the back of the car..
the trunk was absolutely *full*..) i think they were dissapointed when
they realized we weren't the thieves after all.. they didn't even apologize
but said to us that we should leave the shadows .. so we were so "afraid"
that tried to sleep on the parking lot again, with lousy success.
there wasn't enough room in the car...

well, in the morning we left vantaa and filled up the tank (and paid for
it too..).   after that we went back to helsinki to visit some stores,
but it was a big mess because we were so hurry (didn't put enough coins
to the parking meter).. after that we headed home (home, my bed , how i
missed you then!). the 250km trip back home was fine, except that i was
going to fall asleep all the time (and i was the driver!).

before tampere we met a couple of drivers with which we drove a quite
rally out there, oh those overtakings (and our car didn't accelerate
very fast, there was a lot of load..)... our parents we little surprised
when we arrived a day too soon..  did any other group had similar
experiences??????

this was the whole scroll. i apologize this demo is a bit lousy, but i had
only 12 hours to make it, so you have to take it as it is..

this is vector-demo #1 and second one is going to contain improved routines
and user-controllable movements..  i hope you did like this demo, but i
doubt that...

the music is ripped out of super sports and is quite bad...
i hope i have time to make an intro, but if it isn't there,
you just have to do without it..
