BOAR

An Advanced DSP Emulation System

Abstract

BOAR provides a reprogrammable, high performance platform for prototyping DSP development applications. Its main use is to provide an environment to test and prototype VHDL ASIC designs on a real hardware. Operating speeds can be up to 20MHz. As such, BOAR supports hardware/software codesign.

The BOAR is a flexible tool that allows hardware and software codesign. Designer of an ASIC design may simulate his design on a real hardware. BOAR is intended to be used mainly in digital signal processing applications. In BOAR's case "real hardware" means large programmable logic devices. There are also some microprocessors to aid design of processor interfaces.
